A device template is a template for the configuration of a specific device. A device template can be used for commissioning a large quantity of devices. You can load the templates into the device so you do not have to change the settings on each device individually. 


This article describes how to make and share device templates and how to load them into one or multiple devices.

Making a device template

There are three ways to make a device template. The device templates can be made via:

  • a device that is in a network
  • the device settings
  • uncoupled device


A template from a device in a network

  1. Navigate to the network that holds the device you want to create Device template from
  2. Make sure you are authorised with the device
  3. Tap and hold the device
  4. select Device templates from the menu
  5. Give the template a name. Make sure "All Data" is selected.



NOTE
The template is saved on your device and can be found via the "Device Template" option in de main menu of the App. But it will be also available in the Bever Dashboard and all the devices of your colleagues.  


NOTE
It will take some time for the app to download all data. if not all data is downloaded yet, the app will give a warning. Continue downloading the data by tapping OK.


A template via the device settings

  1. In the app, tap the device you want to use to create a device template from, the device settings will open. 
  2. Open the device configuration and select "more" from the menu and than Deivce templates.
  3. Give the template a name. Make sure "All Data" is selected




A template from an uncoupled device

  1. From the main window, choose any of the uncoupled devices you want to create a template from and make sure you are authorised. 
  2. Tap and hold the device. The settings windows will open. 
  3. Select more 
  4. Select Device templates
  5. Give the template a name. Make sure "All Data" is selected




Loading device templates onto a device

You can load a device templates on one or more devices. 

1.    Search for devices and authorise with the devices on which you want to load the device templates.

2.    Tap and hold the devices on witch you want to load the templates. 


NOTE
The selected devices should be from the same type. 


3.    Select "Apply template" from the menu. An overview with the available templates will be shown.


NOTE
Templates compatible with the selected devices will be shown in black. All other templates that are not compatible with the selected devices will be shown in orange. 


4.    Select the required template and tap "Upload to device". The Bever App will start uploading the settings to the selected device. 


 



Import and export templates

All templates will be visible in the Bever Dashboard and will automatically be available in the app for all users in your company. However, if you wish to share them with others you can import or export a template.


Import a device template

  1. Navigate to the side menu and select "Device templates"
  2. Tap the menu option and select "Import template"
  3. Browse on your device to the correct folder and select the template you wat to import


Export a device template

  1. Navigate the the side menu and select "Device templates"
  2. Tap the Device template you want to export
  3. From the top menu select "Export template"
  4. Browse to the applicable folder on your device and save the template.
